about
Don’t ask what it means or what it refers to.
Don’t ask what the work is.
Rather, see what the work does.
- Eva Hesse
STATEMENT
A multi-media artist and educator, Grace Davis primarily works in acrylic, gouache, watercolor, pencil, and charcoal. Presenting the duality of lasting and ephemeral mark-making, Davis' work considers the visual proximity of organic shapes. However, the work often only allows the viewer only a window into the process, obscuring the totality; a mere window into the life of the work. Her work is inspired by her human-made environments, as well as, the natural landscape.
